Hope you enjoy this second summer, the harvest, the colors as autumn unfolds.
Seasons
The sun turns her attention south. The squirrels are busy tossing dirt over the side of pots on the deck, burial grounds for unshelled peanuts sequestered from a neighbor’s bird-feeder. Dwarf pansies celebrate cooler temps – facing forward the last of this fall’s bright purple faces. The first signs of harvest colors tip the maples – a hint of yellow, a whisp of red. The days are shorter now. I’m thankful for a daily rhythm more closely matching my own – a lazier morning, a quieter early evening a season for my autumn.
Thank you for reading!! Love to hear how you experience the changing season, the bounty of autumn, and the quieting that begins as the days shorten.
I love pansies for their beauty and their fortitude.
